Next Series

In my next series, I'm going to take photos of random objects I find in the city and try to incorporate negative space. This is the same style as the photos of the rubber bands and flower I took on the pavement. I want to also have the subjects of my photos on pavement because I thought it looked cool to have something colorful on a plain white background. I plan to use Photoshop on most of them to enhance/change colors and brighten or darken them.

Urban Style

A rubber band I saw on the street; it represents how people constantly litter in cities.

The American flag is often seen in urban-related areas, so I decided to use this one when I noticed it.

Like the other photo of the rubber band, this represents the city. I also see rubber bands on the ground almost everywhere I go.
I took this picture through a glass door with the hall lights reflection on it; it looks like the hall lights are outside in the actual photo.

Pigeon's are always in cities--I think cities wouldn't be the same without them. They are a common nuisance and are everywhere.
Like the other pigeon pictures, pigeon footprints are commonly scene in cement, along with hand prints or names or words. This fits into the urban style because they are commonly seen in a city.
This is a common city scene: crowded and cluttered.
This is obviously an urban portrait because you can see San Francisco in the background. My favorite part of this picture is the dark cloud over a smaller white cloud hovering in a space of really blue sky.
A man who probably has a destination in mind, such as going to his work. This is what cities are like; people hustling to work, but usually in more busy scenarios.
I think this crushed flower represents a city because people are always in rush and don't notice where they are walking, and usually step on things. People are always in too big of a rush to be able to observe their surroundings.

Series Plan

1) Negative Space
2) Urban style
3) Leading Lines

I will do an Urban Style

Negative Space

The wood is the negative space around the origami. I like the colors in the photo
The sky is the negative space, but I really like the angle the photo is taken from.
This is a portrait that uses the wall as negative space.
I like how the clock looks like it's floating because of how white the wall is, which is the negative space.

Like the other photo of Oscar, the wall is the negative space in this portrait.

This uses negative space, which is the sky, as well as the rule of thirds.
In this photo, I use Photoshop to brighten the asphalt and the plants to make it brighter, and I think that contrast the two things.

This is a lonely picture that's empty, bt the first thing I notice is the leaf.

Experimental Style

In this photo, Kyle has both a unique and amusing expression. He was posing for me, and was messing around a little, but the picture still came out good.

Like the photo with Oscar next to a caption that reads "bite me", he again has an stubborn and almost irritated expression that's somehow serious and not serious at the same time.

I think that Sadie is one of my best models for this assignment because she makes very unique and  expressions, which was what I was trying to capture in my assignment.

In this photo, Sami has a very thoughtful look on her face.
Once again, Sadie is attempting to make another weird face for me, and it turns out really amusing.

This picture is what I considered my most unique expression; it's almost dramatic.

Sketchbook

This picture not only represents the feeling of loneliness, but not part of anything, such as the world, because the feet aren't touching the ground.
Amanda's face looks a little confused, surprised, and embarrassed, which can be awkward feelings to experience.

This picture expresses my feelings towards literature and English class, especially when we read old and hard books.

The model looks like he is sneering a little at the camera, and he looks a little intimidating. I added that caption in hope to mimic the emotion he expresses; threat.

Instead of adding a caption, I chose to let the street sign to speak for itself. The picture represents California, specifically San Francisco.

This could be looked at as an artistic and creative drawing, but it could also be translated as "Dinosaur Time", even though I'm not entirely sure what that could mean...

When I first got into Drew, my teacher kept telling me that "drew" was the past tense of "draw", which was a clever joke to him. So I decided to add all of the forms of the word "draw" around Drew.

I decided to add a kind of lame "roar" to this very intimidating and powerful dragon.

I thought Kyle's face represented how most high schoolers feel; during finals week, which is panic, stress, and horror.

After I saw pictures of beaches labeled similarly to this, I decided to label the parts of a skateboard.
